Looking to Buy a Baby Seat and Overwhelmed With Choices
Some things you should consider when purchasing a new baby seat or stroller are:
Stability & durability - How long will this thing last once I put it to use?
Maneuverability - The stroller might be great but I can’t seem to turn the thing without sounding a warning siren first! Get one that is easy to turn, backup.
Safety restraint – I wouldn’t consider anything that doesn’t have a five point harness. Protecting your little one is your top priority!
Ability to open and close easily – If you need a PhD in strollers to open and close the thing, then you might want to look at another model. Check out reviews on specific models to find out if they are easy to open and close. If you need graduate school on a certain model.
Handle height - This was a serious consideration for me when picking a baby seat stroller as I’m a tall person. You should be able to push the stroller with your elbows slightly bent and feel comfortable. A good majority of strollers come with fixed handles.
If you are an average size mom or dad, these usually work great. If you are a taller person, you might want to look for a telescoping or adjustable handle height. There is nothing worse that pushing the stroller around and having your arms burn at the same time. When you go to buy a baby seat or stroller, be sure to look on the box or details about the handle height.
Baby Car Seat Safety – Your Must Know
Most people do not know how to install a baby car seat safely. The easiest baby car seat to utilize is the kind that has a base that is buckled securely to the car seat.
When the baby is 18 pounds, and at least one year old, it is time for a forward-facing baby car seat. The next kind of baby car seat is called a convertible car seat.
Then, the convertible baby car seat can be turned to face forward, and will seat the baby until the baby is 40 pounds or more.
